The WOODCUT Bowl-Saver (bowl saver) comes from the turning country of New Zealand and is now world-famous.
An ingenious tool that makes it possible to cut several small bowls from large bowl blanks. This saves material and money (especially with expensive blades). There are different pin diameters for the palm rest bases.
Safe and easy to use for all woodturners
The only bowl cutter that is integrated into both the hand rest base and the tailstock of the lathe. This makes it easy to use for all levels of woodturner, from beginner to advanced.
Saves time and money
With the Bowlsaver you make multiple bowl blanks and do not need additional blades. It is supplied with two high-strength blades and carbide cutting edges that are used one after the other. These allow you to cut out shells with a diameter of approx. 75 - 305 mm and a depth of up to 127 mm from the "mother shell".
For lathes from 1 hp
The Bowlsaver is suitable for lathes with a minimum turning diameter of approx. 305 mm and an output of 1 HP or more. It can therefore be used on a variety of lathes. The hand rests of the lathes have different pin diameters. In addition to your bowlsaver, select the correct spigot when ordering. Assemble and save wood!
Predictable and reproducible results
The Bowlsaver's carbide cutting edge will pierce up to 500 bowls before it needs resharpening. The Bowlsaver can be used for wet and dry wood. It will help you cut out perfect bowls every time. Templates for determining the shell depth are included. In addition, order the Woodcut Laser Guide to determine the shell depth even more easily.

The Woodcut Tools Bowlsaver cuts out perfect bowls every time. The durable carbide tips can be used for up to 500 shells before they need to be resharpened. The Bowlsaver can be used for both wet and dry wood. It is the only bowl cutter that comes with a morse taper that inserts into your lathe's tailstock. At the same time, it is firmly connected to your lathe by inserting it into the lower part of the hand rest. Thus, the Bowlsaver offers a solid design and keeps vibrations to a minimum.
The Bowlsaver can be used on almost any lathe, large or small. The only requirement: a minimum turning diameter of approx. 305 mm and an output of at least 1 hp.
Different diameter spigots to fit your bowlsaver and lathe are sold separately. We would be happy to support you in making the right choice.
The Bowlsaver comes with two blades that are used one at a time. They allow different cuts to be made in order to cut out shells of approx. 75 - 305 mm from the inside of the "mother shell". The sharp cutting edges are immediately ready for use. Use a sharpening stone or something similar to resharpen. The Bowlsaver comes with easy-to-understand operating instructions and templates for determining the depth of the bowl. The handle that comes with the Bowlsaver can be used on any 12.7mm diameter tool. To make it easier to determine the shell depth, we recommend the additional purchase of the Woodcut Laser Guide.
